About Jessica Sporn

A lawyer, artist, performer and mother, I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. When my first daughter was born in 1991, I decided to finally become a career artist. I began by painting murals on walls, and soon started my own decorative painting business. Together with my partner, Mary Kay Markowitz, I have created unique decorative finishes on the walls of scores of homes in New York metropolitan area.

In 1994, I manufactured my own line of greeting cards and took them to the New York Stationary Show. This led to a freelance illustration relationship with Recycled Paper Greetings. Since then, my work has appeared on everything from greeting cards to posters to textiles. In addition to a long list of commercial clients, my work has appeared in a number of juried shows in Northern New Jersey. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Nan Rosenthal once described one of my flower portraits as “frankly beautiful without being sentimental.”

In the spring of 2003, my business grew substantially after the Surface and Textile Design Show at the New York Javit’s Center. Together with my rep, Laurie High of Creative Connection, I have expanded my design capabilities to include three-dimensional objects such as tableware. With my ability to design and paint in a whimsical commercial style, as well as in a classical style, combined with my proficiency in PhotoShop, I am truly ”one artist for all your design needs”
